DIVERSITY RETAIL ACADEMY
Every Diversity Stylist Becomes DRA Certified
At Diversity Consignment, styling is more than putting together an outfit. Every stylist on our team is trained through the Diversity Retail Academy, our structured education and certification program built around personal styling, customer experience, retail knowledge, fit, confidence, merchandising, and real client interaction.
DRA exists to create a higher standard for what a modern retail stylist can be.
Learn About Certification Explore a PartnershipWhat Is the Diversity Retail Academy?
The Diversity Retail Academy, or DRA, is the education and training division of Diversity Consignment.
The academy was created around a simple idea: retail employees should understand more than transactions, products, and store operations. Great retail professionals should know how to listen to customers, understand personal style, recognize fit, build confidence, create complete looks, communicate recommendations, merchandise effectively, and turn shopping into a meaningful experience.
DRA combines structured education with practical retail experience so stylists learn not only what to do, but why it works.
The Diversity Standard
Every stylist who works with clients at Diversity progresses through DRA training. Certification creates a consistent standard across our styling team and ensures that customers receive thoughtful, informed, inclusive, and personalized guidance.
Personal Style
Understanding aesthetics, individuality, lifestyle, personal expression, and wardrobe goals.
Fit and Proportion
Learning how silhouette, proportion, garment construction, and fit influence the way clothing looks and feels.
Color
Building practical knowledge of color relationships, contrast, coordination, and visual balance.
Client Consultation
Asking better questions and translating lifestyle, budget, personality, and goals into styling decisions.
Retail Experience
Creating an experience that feels collaborative, comfortable, educational, and personal.
Merchandising
Understanding how product placement, visual storytelling, outfit building, and inventory presentation influence shopping.
The DRA Stylist Path
DRA training is designed as a progression. Students develop foundational knowledge first, then apply those skills to increasingly complex styling situations.

Styling is the starting point of the Diversity Retail Academy, but the larger vision extends across modern retail education.
Styling
Personal styling, wardrobe development, consultation, fit, color, aesthetics, and client communication.
Visual Merchandising
Product placement, visual hierarchy, floor presentation, storytelling, and store experience.
Customer Experience
Creating stronger customer relationships through listening, education, confidence, trust, and service.
Retail Development
Preparing employees for greater responsibility, stronger performance, leadership, and long term careers within retail.
For Students
DRA certification is designed to help aspiring stylists build practical skills that can translate directly into employment.
Training can prepare students for opportunities in personal styling, boutiques, luxury retail, department stores, consignment, wardrobe consulting, fashion entrepreneurship, visual merchandising, and customer experience.
Student InterestFor Retailers
DRA is being developed not only to train Diversity employees, but to provide a structured training system that can eventually support boutiques, department stores, resale businesses, and other fashion retailers.
Retail partners can use DRA concepts to strengthen styling knowledge, customer consultation, outfit building, merchandising, client relationships, and selling through service.
Bring DRA to Your TeamFor Colleges and Universities
Diversity Retail Academy welcomes conversations with colleges, universities, fashion programs, career development programs, and educators interested in connecting academic fashion education with practical retail experience.
Potential partnerships may include DRA certification, guest instruction, workshops, student practicums, experiential learning, retail training, supervised styling experience, and career preparation.
Academic Education Meets Real Retail Experience
A DRA partnership can give students another opportunity to translate fashion knowledge into direct client experience while developing a professional styling credential.
What Does DRA Certified Mean?
DRA Certified represents completion of a structured training process focused on both knowledge and practical ability.
The long term goal is to create a recognizable retail styling credential that communicates something meaningful to employers: this person has been trained to work with customers, understand clothing, build looks, communicate recommendations, and create a stronger retail experience.
